Prep Advice!

Prepare yourself for the travel day!

You put so much time and energy into planning the trip. Not worrying about things back home really helps you live and enjoy every moment. Take the week before you travel to finish things at home. Clean house. Laundry. Pay any bills that will be due during travel. Some companies will not accept typical payments when your IP address is coming from another country.

Make a To Do list a week before you travel. Take an hour each night before you leave to get a task completed. The last night in town do any last minute packing and relax in your own bed before your journey. The goal is to avoid and last minute issues.

Make sure you do not forget about your furry friends back home. Confirm pet sitter arrangements. Don’t forget to make sure your pet is current on vaccines needed by your boarding/daycare facilities. If you are traveling with you pet make sure you have all necessary reservations and confirm with your airlines. See our pet travel guide for international travel guidelines.

Have you travel documents together. Make sure your passport is current. Give yourself at least 6 months to get a passport to ensure you receive it in time for your trip.

Whenever we plan a trip, we make a full printable itinerary with confirmation numbers, reservation information, scheduled times for activities. This has come in helpful on multiple occasions. Many of your out of country trips, you may not have access to internet to be able to log in to emails to get this information.

Many of the popular restaurants can be booked in advance. Booking ahead of time saves you the headache of long wait times for dinner. It also makes sure that you get to eat at all the places you want during your trip. Some of the fine dining can even book out months in advance so make sure you are doing your research! I recommend Open Table or Resy application. Yelp also has great recommendations for places to eat.
