PARK CITY, UTAH

What a surprise! We had one of our best ski trips to date! If you have not visited Park City, please start planning you next mountain trip here!

Getting there: Park City is only a 45 minute drive from the Salt Lake City airport. This being so easy to access makes skiing the final day of your trip very doable if you have an evening flight. Traffic was also non existent! So if you are used to the Summit County traffic, it is a perfect change of pace! Make sure you do bring good walking shoes to the airport. It is very spread out between the terminal and the baggage claim.

You can Uber to Park City for around 100$ each way. For us, it was nice to have a rental car to get around for convenience factor. There is a bus system within the Park City area that runs in 15 minute rental care.

Stays: There are two villages that make up Park City mountain: Canyon Village and Mountain Village. These areas are at the base areas that are convenient to ski in and out. At each of the villages there are multiple Air BNB stays and resort hotels. We ended up staying in Canyon Village at Silverado Lodge. It was an easy 7 minute walk to the base chair lifts of Canyon Village. They also have a shuttle that takes you to a gondola that you can ride up. I do not recommend this. Main reason, if you are scared of heights (like me), this is an open-side; standing gondola, with a grated bottom you see through. I died the whole way up.

The Mountain: Park City was very refreshing to snowboard at. Even though it was both of our first times at the resort, it was VERY easy to navigate. The trail signs were easy to follow. We stayed mostly on the Canyon side of the mountain. It was much less crowded than that Mountain side of Park City. I recommend heading to Sun Peak or Super Condor lifts. They each have great cruiser runs. The Sun Lodge just up the mountain from the Sun Peak lift was a great place to stop for food/beer. The lines were not long and the Mexican food really good for a snack on the mountain.

Main Street Park City: There is plenty of boutique shopping spots and restaurant bars along Main Street in Park City. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to explore it all.

Atticus Coffee and Tea is a super cute bookstore and coffee shop. They have unique books, journals and cards. This is a perfect spot to get a breakfast snack or coffee before heading up the Mountain side lifts. This is right across the street from town lift.

Bangkok Thai On Main was an inexpensive place to stop in for lunch or dinner. The food was great and the wait time was short. It was nice to warm up with saki after a cold day.

Wasatch Brewery: This was one of the local breweries. It was the only one on Main Street, so it was the only brewery we visited during out trip. They had good bar food and craft beers!

Alpine Distilling Social Aid and Pleasure Club: MUST DO!! This was one of the best cocktail bars we have been to. The drinks were all crafty and unique. We tried multiple and each one was better than the last. Make sure to call ahead to find out if they are having any private events during your trip. You will want to make sure you plan a night or TWO they are available.

Star Bar: Another cocktail lounge that is worth stopping by. You may get lucky to have a live musician playing while you are there on the weekend. We did! We enjoyed the drinks and environment. We ended up dancing around the table most of the night.

High West Distillery: This is a local distillery that produces great whiskey and bourbon. Their cocktails are creatively crafted. Mollz loved the one with the sour beer!

No Name Saloon: This is a three story bar that is very popular on Main Street. There is likely to be a waiting line outside the bar unless you go early. It would be a great place to go party with your group. Mostly bar food and drinks.

Favorite Shops:

Mollz pick: Overland Sheepskin Co- they have trendy hats, leather and fur jackets, hats and assessors.

KC’s pick: New West Knife Works & Mountain Man Toy Shop- had handmade knifes that were beautiful.

Side tip to Salt Lake

On the way back to the airport, we stopped for a drink at a Salt Lake City “speak easy” called Prohibition. We had great drinks, appetizers and got a little tipsy before we had to head to the airport. Definitely worth the stop.
